Our Story

Wild Wooly’s Racing is built on family, friendship, and a lifelong passion for competition.

The team’s driver, Cole Wuellenweber, and co-driver/navigator, Christopher Anderson, first crossed paths in 2013 at New England ATV (NEATV). Both began their racing careers on quads in their local series, quickly earning reputations for skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

In mid-2017, Cole was accepted onto a national team and began competing in the AMA ATV National Series. His first full national season in 2018 proved to be a breakout year, earning two AMA National Titles. In 2019, Cole’s parents purchased NEATV, the very series where his racing journey began. Around this time, Cole transitioned into UTV racing on motocross tracks, continuing to sharpen his competitive edge.

Cole expanded into desert racing in 2020, competing in his first Best in the Desert event. During the 2021 and 2022 off-seasons, he continued racing at TexPlex, gaining valuable seat time and experience across varying terrain and conditions. In 2025, Cole took on one of the most demanding challenges in off-road racing—his first NORRA Baja 1000, racing across Baja California, Mexico.

Christopher Anderson began racing ATVs in 2013, with his first full season in 2014. Alongside his wife, Amber, Chris became a familiar and respected presence at local races—always helping fellow racers and supporting the racing community. Over the years, Chris earned multiple race wins and championships, eventually competing at the local Pro level. In 2019, a devastating accident ended his ATV racing career.

Still deeply connected to the sport, Chris accepted a position in 2020 as the official NEATV referee, officiating all races for the next two seasons. During this time, his friendship with Cole grew stronger. When Cole was presented with the opportunity to race the NORRA Baja 1000, he knew immediately who he wanted beside him in the car.

For Chris, who could no longer race ATVs but still carried a fierce desire to compete, the role of co-driver and navigator was the perfect fit. Together, Cole and Chris discovered a powerful chemistry—combining high-level motocross experience, adaptability across terrain, and the ability to perform under extreme conditions.

Their first race together at the 2025 NORRA Baja 1000 was a standout success. Over six days and 1,419 miles, they finished 4th in the Evolution Pro UTV / Class 10 and 28th overall out of 226 entries—an impressive debut as a team.

Wild Wooly’s Racing is proudly dedicated to Cole’s grandfather, affectionately known as “Wooly.” In the late 1960s, Wooly raced in the Baja series in Ensenada, Mexico. Cole’s father and team manager, Jim, remembers attending those races as a child. Racing has always been a shared family bond, spanning generations.

Throughout Cole’s childhood, his grandparents rarely missed a race, traveling across the country to support him. Even before racing, they introduced Cole to competitive shooting through the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS), teaching discipline, safety, and respect for competition—values that continue to guide the team today.

Blending family legacy, racing heritage, and a relentless drive to compete, Wild Wooly’s Racing represents more than a team—it’s a continuation of a story that began decades ago in Baja and is still being written today.
